How Much To Save For Retirement
One of the biggest questions regarding financial issues out there today is how much money do we need to set aside for retirement. Many of us have not even begun to save money yet thinking that we will do it later.
However, saving for retirement is an important financial issue that should not be neglected.
The goal for most people should be to save 10 percent of their salary and put that towards retirement. However, people often wonder when do we start doing this? And, is 10 percent the right number?
Experts suggest that the earlier we save the better.
For example, if someone who made $40,000 a year saved 10 percent in their 401(k) by the time they reached 65 they would have over $1 million to live off of throughout their retirement. Obviously, every case is different. However, the facts still point towards saving the most you can as soon as you can.
If you save towards your retirement, you will find that over time it will add up.
This is particularly true for those who are younger and just starting out. They need to understand how important saving for retirement is. Hopefully, they will make smart, educated financial decisions with their money.
